Incoming! The Hunter of Demons – Daemon Review
Before we get into it I would just like to say that I have really enjoyed the story line in the event and am looking forward to it’s continuation! Props to Mitama for upping the ante a bit.
Now let’s look at the Helper Daemon First:
Base Bond: HP
Ability (lvl 80): 25% Max HP
Just a massive wad of HP. In terms of overall EHP boost to your units is better than White Queen, Green Jasper, is about the same as Kane Doji, and is not as good as Ptolemy or the ultimate EHP booster from the previous event in Saehrimir (less than half as good!) (Edit: for Ranged Daemon specifically he is second best only behind Saehrimir). Okay assist but not necessary for most players.
Rating: 6.8 / 10
Base Bond: ATK DMG
Ability (lvl 77): Normal Attacks have a 50% of increasing DMG taken by 5%
Yaksha is basically identical to Christmas Lights. On average it’s a 10% increase in damage taken at any one point assuming no attack speed boosts (4 hits per 8 second time window that the debuff lasts, 50% chance means 2 applied the debuff, 2 stacks of 5% = 10%). The difference is that by having a higher percent chance and a smaller debuff percent the level of debuff she applies is more consistent than Christmas Lights. In any case Lights only saw a tiny bit of use during one world boss. Even on a unit with maximum speed boost (maximising Yaksha’s potential) there’s still plenty of better assists to use than either Yaksha or Lights.

4* Anima Melee
ATK/HP: 6,000 / 8,500
MLB Stats: 7,356 / 10,421
Skill: Deals 1,226 / 1,504 DMG to further enemies with a moderate chance of stun
Ability: 20% Crit DMG and 20% Skill DMG on the final wave
Overall a very weak daemon. A melee wave clearer with little damage, who only boosts her damage output on the final wave…not much more to say
Rating: 3.3 / 10
And now onto the event Daemon:
3* Healer Phantom
ATK/HP: 4,700 / 5,000
MLB Stats: 5,980 / 6,362
Skill: Heals all allies for 1,470 / 1,869
Ability (lvl 61): Heal the ally with the lowest HP by 20% at the start of each wave
A vanilla 3* healer. Actually has more heal than previous vanilla 3* healers from events (Ambrosia, Undine, Kotatsu) but still not useful in any manner unless you are a beginner with nothing else.
Rating: 2.5 / 10
4* Ranged Phantom
ATK/HP: 7,300 / 6,000
MLB Stats: 8,949 / 7,356
Skill: Increases the DMG of the 2 allies with the highest ATK by 60 / 74% for a limited time
Ability (lvl 78): Increases the skill DMG of the 2 allies with the highest ATK by 15%
Kuma is actually the best of the level based daemon rewards in my opinion. The damage boost she provides is higher than Gjallerhorn (74% DMG and 15% skill combined is better than a flat 89% DMG), but then she’s naturally less tanky than a 5* melee. Not quite as good as Sumizome Zakura, a 4* LJS from a previous event who is basically identical with the exception of the passive being 40% Crit DMG instead, but still Kuma is a solid daemon, a good addition to most players collection and easy to MLB. Beginners should definitely pick up and use this daemon.
Rating: 7.7 / 10
4* Melee Divina
ATK/HP: 6,100 / 7,200
MLB Stats: 7,478 / 8,827
Skill: Deals 1,503 / 1,843 DMG to the row of enemies directly infront, with a moderate chance of inflicting stun
Ability (lvl 75): Normal attacks have a 10% chance of inflicting stun
Simply put awful for a 4*. Row skills are bad, her damage is bad, her passive ability is bad (10% chance for a stun on normal attack = one stun per 20 seconds on average). Nothing good on this daemon.
Rating: 3.2 / 10
5* Melee Anima
ATK/HP: 11,800 / 8,900
MLB Stats: 14,080 / 10,620
Skill: Deals 5,388 / 6,427 DMG to the enemy with the most HP. Target Deals 45% less DMG for a limited time
Ability 1 (lvl 71): Increases Crit DMG by 60% on the final wave
Ability 2 (lvl 85): Increases Crit Rate of Anima allies by 10%
Onikiri appears super strong in the storyline, but similar to her twin sister falls short as an actual daemon. Her damage output for a single target nuker is below average nowadays, but does come with the defensive debuff attached. If you compare her to 2 recent ranged version daemon in Behemoth [Gula] and 6EQJU5 she’s definitely weaker, but then again these were 5* LJS in 50/50’s so pretty unattainable for most players. She does have a rare crit rate to team buff, however at only 10% it’s not that significant and isn’t really enough to change your team set up or sequence to make a big difference. A decent blend of offensive and defensive abilities but overall ends up being a sort of mid tier 5*.
Rating: 7.5 / 10
Base Bond: Skill DMG
Ability 1 (lvl 72): Increases Crit DMG by 50% for the 2 allies with the Highest ATK
Ability 2 (lvl 90): Increases skill DMG of Divina allies by 5% at the start of each wave
Okay so we take Stella: Leo, who is basically a top 5 daemon in the game, and we add 5% skill dmg per wave to potentially the whole team…what do we get? That’s right broken as hell xD Ridiculously strong assist who can be placed anywhere in the team. Don’t look at it and think “well I already have Leo so whatever it’s only a small buff” because it’s more than that. Both Leo and Minamotono can only be used once (or +1 time with an ally), but you can use them at the same time on different daemon… Minamotono is basically replacing your Raishodo/other Assist daemon. Combining him with the Okita assist daemon and Divina is going to be the powerhouse for a while to come (even with the incoming Amano v3.0, who I think will likely sit in reserve for a lot of players).
